World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
Item upgrading allows players to boost the gear score of an item to 700 and also add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you bring them to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading due to their unique stats. (For instance the perfect broken point armor that is rolled can be used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade and aren't worth the cost.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to improve their numeric stats, such as damage to attack, crit chance as well as PvE and damage from PvP. Weapons have a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. In addition there are many weapons with a set bonus that activates when three or more of the same weapon is present on a unit. This bonus can sometimes be more than the damage that an upgrade can do on its own.
The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity and current level. For instance, a +2 weapon will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue rise until it requires a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.
Upgraded weapons can also alter their base stats. This is usually a positive thing, but it can also have negative consequences. Upgrades can make things unusable, unless you are very lucky.
Armor items can also be upgraded to improve their performance. For instance, if you have chests or helms, this will increase its defense base while gloves and belts improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it is able to reduce its value.
The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats it will gain upon upgrading in addition to their respective values. This means that a weapon will gain 33% attack damage when it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will hit 3 times less often as it is an absolute statistic.
A weapon can be rerolled by pressing the green button, which is accompanied by circular arrows within the item menu. The item will be rerolled and alter its stats but it will not reset the weapon's levels, or bind it to account status.
Armor
A few armor upgrades can make a huge difference to your survival. Certain sets provide massive increases in poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, making traversing tough areas a breeze. Generally speaking, the more defense your character has the more value you get from every point of health you possess, so it's important to upgrade your armor as much as you can.
To improve your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four in total, and each requires you to complete a special side-quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've completed the main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.
The amount of materials needed to upgrade each piece of armor will differ. In general, you'll need at anything from three to ten Red Chuchu Jellies and ten Rupees for the first upgrade, and then anywhere from five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent upgrade. The Champion Leathers, for example, can be upgraded to a +5 defense rating, which will allow you to remain competitive in cold environments with a large group of adversaries. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other side, can be upgraded to +20 defense to ensure you're able to withstand a rout with friends.
Note that armor can't be upgraded in the same way as weapons, so you'll have to work on upgrading it for physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power in the case of a Mage. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you'll still wear by the end of the story, such as the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight The Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town in Gerudo Town, you can gain some benefits to your armor. Generally, you'll want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to beat the game, such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer however, it could be beneficial to have a few upgrades to your chest armor and helmets to permit you to sneak past certain monsters.

Potions
Potions are liquids that when consumed by a player, give an immediate effect for a short period of time. There are five kinds of potions, each with different effects and durations. Some potions may be upgraded, enhancing their level of effect. Alternatively upgrade item of certain potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to them.
Potion upgrades require a certain amount XP. This can be obtained by making them on a table or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. However, the upgrade price is dependent on the type of potion you'd like to upgrade, as well as on the item's Mark Level and Rarity.
To upgrade a potion to the next level, right-click on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open a GUI which allows you to select the potion you wish to upgrade, and the amount of experience they'll provide when upgraded. The upgrade of potions can be completed in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP they earn will be added to your current XP count.
Once a potion has been upgraded, it will not degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it is stored in. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to change the name of the potion.
There were a few changes to the mechanics of potion in version 1.7.2. Splash potions, for example are now available with a time of zero, not the 22.5 seconds that are displayed on the item hover display. The potion table can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. Unlike the Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions cannot be used in cauldrons. This is the same for using a potion in a cauldron that is full. This will draw out the potion, and refill the bottle.
In addition, there are simmering potions that are made using dragon breath and splash potions. Redstone can also be added to potions that are lingering to increase their effects. The table of potions is rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions are also added, for instance, the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket is a small and affordable ornament or piece of jewelry. It may be a reference to an object or ornament that serves a purpose but is not particularly important like a tiny thimble. In some cultures a trinket can be used to show affection or friendship between family members.
Players can upgrade trinkets in addition to weapons and armor, as well as potions. These can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Trinkets unlike other items which can be upgraded can be swapped at will without losing stats.
The upgrade vendors can be found in major cities and in the capital of each zone, as well as in in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are bought with tokens, gold or fragments of rare trinkets.
Upgrades to trinkets are an affordable alternative to buying a new one. It can be done by players for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket has the same base level as the old trinket, however, it will also come with an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.
Trinkets can be re-upgraded once they're not needed, allowing a player to increase their power and value over time. They can also be traded between players which makes them an attractive alternative to gold.
Players should upgrade their most essential items first. This means that the most-important slot items for each class are upgraded first before their secondary gear and finally other pieces of equipment that won't replace in the near future (such as an earring or a cloak). When choosing the items to upgrade, players must also be aware of the preferred statistics of their class. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats for tank players, then they should upgrade their helm, chest and shoulders.
Once they have become useless trinkets can be upgraded to a greater level. The new trinket has an additional 1% bonus. However, a re-upgrade can cause the trinket to be destroyed until it is salvaged using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an additional salvage tool of higher quality. Upgrades to trinkets are more expensive than other upgrades, but still cheaper than buying an entirely new trinket.
